Thirty-episode series often captivate audiences, fostering a sense of connection with the cast and enhancing the potential for success. While some series secure renewals based on the popularity of their debut season, the subsequent seasons may vary in success.

Although many multi-season series have thrived, it’s undeniable that a substantial number have struggled to maintain a coherent narrative, marked by meandering ideas from the creators.

In reality, several series could have concluded after the first season without compromising the storyline or plot just for the sake of elongating the show without a purpose.

Here are four Egyptian series that we believe could have naturally concluded after their debut season:

El Keber Awi

Undoubtedly, our affection for El Keber and Johnny’s characters transcends their fictional nature, creating a remarkably authentic connection. However, it’s perceived that the initial seasons garnered more success, and the frequent renewals have extended the series to nearly its 9th season, scheduled for the upcoming Ramadan. This has left the audience yearning for the diverse range of shows that Mekky could potentially introduce.

Kalabsh

Over three consecutive seasons, Amir Karara and the cast of ‘Kalabsh’ became deeply immersed in their roles. Despite its considerable success, there’s a belief that the decision to renew a show not initially planned or introduced in the first season seemed somewhat like procrastination with the storyline.

El Maddah

The concept of procrastination could also be applied to ‘El Maddah.’ This show managed to grab a large base of the audience with its mind-blowing concept, a significant factor in its success. However, we believe concluding the show now without a fourth renewal could be a fitting decision.

Abo El Arousa

Watching ‘Abo El Arousa’ daily became a cherished tradition for many. While all parts were successful, the debut season remains a favorite, cherished for the freshness of its mood and concept. And as much as viewers really wanted for the following seasons to top the first one, it just didn’t happen.
